Audrey Beth Keszler has arrived

Audrey Beth was born to Jen and Adam Keszler yesterday (10/27) at 11:20 am CDT in Racine, Wisconsin.
She was 7 pounds 9 ounces, and 19 1/2 inches long. Mom and baby are doing fine. They are keeping Jen for an extra day to monitor her blood pressure, which had become elevated.

Hello, Dolly
Some of you may not know, but the hurricane Dolly affected us as much as it did Texas a couple of weekends ago. We had over 6 inches of rain in a day, and more on top of the mountain that came rushing down into town and overflowed the Rio Ruidoso, causing major flooding. Over 13 bridges were damaged or destroyed. A number of roads washed out and impassable. Couldn't get to church on that Sunday. FEMA has been here to look over the damage. Still waiting to see if they declare Ruidoso to be a major disaster so we qualify for federal funding. Many people without water, sewer, electricity--mostly in the Upper Canyon area of Ruidoso. Estimates are more than $15 million worth of damage. Now New Mexico is expected to receive much rainfall from the tropical storm Edourdo, but we are not expected to get too much.

New neighbors/visitors?

Here's a new neighbor. Saw him for the first time last weekend. He's an eastern king snake. Non-venomous, eats other snakes (including poisoness ones), frogs, lizards, and small mammals. Spotted him crawling up to our pond, and then following along side and finally getting under some rocks near the waterfall. He appeared to be about 6 feet long.
On a friendlier note, here's a visitor bathing in our waterfall.

Miracles
There are two ways to live your life. One is as though
nothing is a miracle. The other is as though
everything is a miracle.
